This game was a timeless classic to me, one thing in my gaming life I will never, ever forget.

If that's a question, then I honestly couldn't tell you 'cause I haven't played it in years.

I had the same issue with my PS1 console, (which is long gone now).
It turned out that the controller had a lot of dust 'n' stuff in it, so my Dad cleaned it out. I think he lost a few screws at this time, so he wrapped the grips with electrical tape lol. After that it seemed to work just fine.
Maybe that might be the problem?
(Also, I probably should've mentioned that I played Croc on an old Windows 98 system, hence why I didn't like the controls. I'm a video game console kinda guy).
